June 6

Today was our first day in London. It was quite the exciting adventure. We started our trip off with not being able to check in to the kiosk and had to wait in a really long line. Our trip from Salt Lake to JFK was quite the fiasco. We sat in the airplane at JFK for an hour and half… which meant that we almost missed our connecting flight. We had to RUN across JFK and barely made it. Finally we arrive in London, and it was hard to believe that we were here. Hauling our luggage from one flight of stairs to another was not the ideal vacation but it wasn’t as bad as everyone made it sound either. Because we need to get onto London time we can’t go to sleep when we get there either and we were all really tired. So we took a tour of London. It was beautiful. We saw the London Eye, Big Ben, Westiminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, and the Queen herself!!! That was a great start to the beginning of our trip. As we passed through the streets of London, I loved all of the architecture and how old but beautiful it truly was. There is so much history in this city with so many stories to be told. I am excited to find out what the next day will bring us…

This is Millenium Bridge.

This is Westminster Abbey, a view from across the Thames River.

This is Big Ben.

Buckingham Palace gates right before we saw the Queen!
